The BitTorrent (BTT) team recently shared their thoughts on why the BTFS file system is superior to the Filecoin file system in a recent tweet (FIL).
From charges of plagiarism to claims that the other project is ‘vaporware,’ the teams behind both projects have been hurling insults at one another in recent weeks. The Mainnet for Filecoin (FIL) will live between the middle of July and August.
The team at BitTorrent (BTT) recently shared their thoughts on why their BTFS file system is superior to Filecoin (FIL). The tweet demonstrated how the BTFS system has more to offer than Filecoin. It has yet to deploy its mainnet following several delay attempts. The lack of a functional product for Filecoin is the focal focus of the discussion. It argues which is preferable and which is worse. The following comparisons are in BitTorrent’s tweet.
Exactly why is #BTFS superior to #Filecoin?
It integrates with the $BTT economic system where #TRON network is number two. Also, 3 x 100 million people who use the service and it is an easy-to-use and intuitive host interface. It is also a dedicated worldwide professional teams with a global perspective
Tweet From the Past
The most recent BitTorrent tweet is a continuation of a Tweet in mid-April. It was between Justin Sun of BitTorrent and Juan Benet of Filecoin (FIL). Benet was the first to point out that BTFS’s new logo appeared to have been lifted verbatim from another source. His words alluded to the fact that Justin Sun and the Tron Foundation have accusations of stealing ideas from other open-source projects, which he denied.
Benet said that it would no longer suffice to fork all of their code and rebrand it as Sun’s own, copy and paste random sections of their papers, and deceive their investors with a nonsensical mix of ideas. BitTorrent can’t even come up with a unique logo for themselves.
Justin Sun was quick to respond to Benet’s acquisitions. He inquired whether the hexagon shape on the new BTFS emblem was a trademark of the company. Sun went on to accuse Filecoin of stealing the technologies used by BitTorrent. Additionally, he criticized the initiative as ‘vaporware,’ meaning that it did not produce a usable product.
2020 Mainnet Launch
The Filecoin and Tron initial coin offerings (ICOs) took place in September 2017. On the other hand, Tron has a much more comprehensive range of accomplishments under its belt than Filecoin. As previously stated, the fact that Tron launched its mainnet in mid-2018 and Filecoin has yet to unveil its final version of the platform is critical to understanding the entire topic.
Filecoin’s mainnet debut has been scheduled for mid-July to mid-August of this year, according to the time of writing.
