A new round of plagiarism allegations against Tron founder Vitalik Buterin has prompted the Ethereum founder to call BitTorrent another appendage in the Sun dictatorship.
TRON (TRX) co-founder Justin Sun has caught in yet another plagiarism incident. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has decried as an example of the Justin Sun dictatorship.
One of Juan Benet’s most recent projects is IPFS (the Interplanetary File System). It outraged by a recently announced rebranding of the BitTorrent file system (BTFS). Benet noted a comparison between the new BTFS and IPFS . He asserted that the parallels did not end with the logos.
Furthermore, they said that they forked all of their code rebranded it and said it was Tron’s. They copied and pasted random sections of their papers, and defrauded their investors with a nonsensical jumble. Tron can’t even come up with a unique logo for the time being.
Immediately, the BitTorrent Inc Twitter account jumped into defense mode. It argued that IPFS should be glad since BitTorrent paved the path for them in the distributed file-sharing industry. They said in that this is not cool to accuse #BitTorrent, which has been around for decades refining its technology. Because of BitTorrent’s leadership in this field, #IPFS should be appreciative of the opportunity to follow in their footsteps. They added that we should work together.
However, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has weighed in on the debate. He denounced what he sees as the zombification of BitTorrent under Justin Sun’s leadership.
Increased Visibility for Sun
Sections of the Tron whitepaper lifted wholesale from the whitepapers of Ethereum, Filecoin, and IPFS’s BitSwap. As a result, Justin Sun’s first entry into the cryptocurrency market with Tron (TRX) faced similar controversy.
MakerDAO, as well as Single Collateral Dai and Tron’s freshly introduced decentralized finance product, Djed, were all strikingly similar to one another.
Furthermore, Buterin was questioned about his use of the term “dictatorship”. The Ethereum co-founder alluded to a March Twitter chat in which Tron, the cryptocurrency startup, talked about its recent acquisition of the social media platform Steemit.
Allegations Against Sun
In the months following Sun’s acquisition of Steemit, more accusations have leveled against the Tron founder. This includes allegations of direct bribery and widespread censorship.
Additionally, Former BitTorrent employee Simon Morris, who prepared to quit the company in 2019, directed his parting remarks at Sun Microsystems, Inc. Morris linked Sun’s demeanor to that of President Donald Trump’s personal style. Morris attacked the technology that powers the Tron blockchain. He refers to it as a marketing machine with a very thin veneer of technology on top.
