Bob Iger has joined the Genies board of directors after stepping down as chairman of Disney last year.
Iger is the former CEO and Chairman of Disney, a multinational media and entertainment company based in the United States. He has made a personal investment in Genies, a firm that develops digital avatar technologies. After that, he joined the board of directors of a metaverse company situated in Los Angeles.
As a result, the executive will collaborate with other Genies board members. This includes Mary Meeker of Bond, Rick Yang of NEA, and Akash Nigam and Evan Rosenbaum, co-founders of Genies.

Iger is a new Genies investor. Breyer Capital, Bond Capital, and New Enterprise Associates are among the company’s other investors.

Genies began providing non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in collaboration with celebrities in 2021. Shawn Mendes, Warner Music Group, and Universal Music Group are among those involved. They will be their official avatar and NFT provider for digital goods.
