A recent survey found that most game developers and studios have little interest in working with NFTs or crypto payments.
The Game Creators Conference on January 21 conducted a survey where NFTs and cryptocurrency were the focus. It is titled State of the Game Industry 2022. It polled 2,700 game developers. To summarize, results did not please gamers, who have shown much interest in NFTs.
Respondents on NFTs and Bitcoin
A large majority of respondents (72%) ruled out NFTs and bitcoin as payment instruments. Additionally, the majority also said that their studio showed no interested (70%). Only 1% of respondents said they were currently working on NFTs or were already making payments with cryptocurrencies.
Only one developer’s response to the survey’s questions about NFTs and cryptography was generally positive. On the other hand, the others ranged from backhanded to scathing. The only complimentary comment was that it was “the wave of the future.”

On the other hand, traders, collectors, and players are currently driving the NFT market. On OpenSea, the world’s most popular NFT marketplace, collector objects are the primary source of trading activity. According to Mordor Intelligence, NFTs will benefit over 3 billion gamers worldwide from the $178 billion traditional gaming market.

In fact, report indicated that approximately one-third of respondents feel the metaverse concept would never deliver on its promise. Even though over 12 businesses are now developing AR and VR devices for gamers to immerse themselves in games.
