The Sandbox (SAND) has begun a new round of virtual land plot sales.
The sale of virtual land for more than 2.6 million USD in just one hour set a new record for the NFT initiative.
A total of 1,874 11 land plots and 13 33 plots are available for purchase. There will also be auctions for 19 larger estates. The overall proceeds from the transaction will exceed 10 million SAND (6.355 million USD), according to Sandbox.
The land plots cost 4,683 SAND (2,950 USD) and include three NFTs, which can beautify the virtual land or sold on the market. Avenged Sevenfold, a heavy metal band, gave two of the NFTs that will be in the current round’s land plots.
According to DappRadar, The Sandbox’s daily transaction volume has surged by over 1,500 percent to $3 million USD. Making it the second-largest NFT project by volume. The overall number of deals has climbed by 532 percent. While the number of daily unique traders has increased by 265 percent.
On March 28th, the price of SAND reached a new all-time high of $0.85. SAND is now trading for $0.63 at the time of writing.
Land plots and in-game items on The Sandbox, like most other NFTs, can trade on OpenSea. NFT designers can now sell their creations. These are the in-game characters, wearables, equipment, or digital art, through an NFT marketplace dedicated just to the virtual land game.
While many have been purchasing LAND, the metal band Avenged Sevenfold also announced their purchase. The announcement has left many of their admirers perplexed. Because, the NFT craze has spread so quickly that many are still unaware of it. The Winklevoss twins appear to have secured neighboring acreage in the game. Moreover, they are one prominent neighbor of Avenged Sevenfold in The Sandbox.
It’s unclear what Avenged Sevenfold will do with their new domain. But interest in the crypto sector is growing as more musicians and celebrities draw attention to it. It will be located north of Roller Coaster Tycoon and west of Gemini Land, according to the newly revealed map.
Atari, The Smurfs, Care Bears, and Binance are just a few of the well-known brands that secured a spot in The Sandbox Game.
As of right now, The Sandbox has scheduled its next public LAND sale for April 14. It will feature premium LAND near these newly revealed partners’ plots on the map. Each piece of LAND will include a set of premium NFTs. Owners may utilize these to customize their in-game environments and experiences.
So far, 46 artists are in the whitelist for early access to the Market’s Beta edition, which launched on March 30. The public will soon be able to sell their inventions on the marketplace. Sellers will receive 95% of the sale price, with the remaining 5% going to the Sandbox Treasury and the Foundation, which will split between the Game Maker Fund and the Creator Fund.
