The Sandbox and World of Women announced the formation of the WoW Foundation in order to bring more women and diversity into the NFT and metaverse.
The Sandbox will kick off the Foundation with a $25 million gift. Its goal is to improve women’s representation in decentralized web platforms.
The Team Up
World of Women and Sandbox will collaborate to produce a series of interactive experiences. This will happen through the WoW Foundation, which will focus on four fundamental pillars.
Furthermore, these will include enhancing the ecology through supporting artists and sponsoring projects, according to the release. Its goals are to educate newcomers, communicate in order to raise awareness of women’s issues while motivating others, and give back to organizations.
The Sandbox, Animoca Brands, and Brinc will all benefit from the fund’s business development efforts. The Sandbox is designed to assist creators in achieving success in Web3–beginning with mentoring. However, the support will extend beyond the funding of first mints to metaverse shows.
The Sandbox’s co-Founder and COO is Sebastien Borget. This relationship, he said, demonstrates their long-term commitment to building a diverse and inclusive space for women to thrive in Web3 within their metaverse.
Multiple Initiatives
The WoW Museum will be one of the many initiatives that will assist the fund’s aim. A structure on a 22-acre plot of Sandbox property will serve as a showpiece for the foundation and WoW University. This site provides free online training on how to use Web3.
Those interested in being certified and receiving a “NFT diploma” will be able to participate in a course in The Sandbox that will be taught through immersive experiences.
In addition, the WoW Academy is designed to serve as a seedbed for new ideas and artists. It offers a variety of services, including advice and funding, as well as mentoring and access to The Sandbox and World of Women’s networks.
Finally, during the Alpha 2 launch, World of Women will distribute 10,000 3D interoperable avatars.
Aurora in The Sandbox Alpha
The Sandbox, according to the announcement, bought the most costly WoW NFT at the time of purchase. Aurora is the name of the character that will play a major role in Season 2 of The Sandbox Alpha.
On the other hand, Yam Karkai is a co-founder of World of Women and an artist. She said that they are ecstatic to be working with The Sandbox. It’s a watershed moment for them to have a World of Women as the Goddess of Alpha 2. In the metaverse, it establishes their mission.
They will voxelize all 10,000 WoW so that their entire community can join us there with this $1 million USD gift. They’ll also use a variety of activities to create the WoW Museum a symbol of representation and diversity in the metaverse.
They have some exciting initiatives in the works, and they’re excited to work on them with our Sandbox community.
