DNAxCAT faces a difficult fundraising struggle ahead of it, but will the Yooshi society help rally the troops?
DNAxCAT, a hack on the PlayToEarn GameFi that occurred on February 24, has been revealed. The blackhat was able to steal 3360 BNB––roughly $1.2 Million USD––from the Yooshi community’s most popular game.
The attack determined to be the result of a possible leak of the community treasury account’s private key. The DNAxCat team has informed users that they would be self-funding the reimbursement of cash lost. They wish the community does not propagate false information.
Firstly, the squad will seek finances to cover the 760 BNB losses. Then, the excess loss will be comprised weekly with a minimum contribution of 200 BNB to the community treasury. Furthermore, they said that raising cash takes time, and they hope that communities will understand.
For fear of another attack, the DNAxCAT team obliged to transfer all remaining cash in the community treasury to a new wallet. The exploit has weakened the Yooshi community, prompting the Yooshi team to make similar changes.
They said in a Tweet that they really felt sorry for the community. With the given situation, they have decided to upgrade the security of the community treasury.
In late 2021, the Yooshi community erupted onto the BNB Chain. The community has maintained good attitude throughout its life, and the exploit in its flagship game is unquestionably a setback.
